Ensuring E911 compliance requires careful attention to a host of details across multiple systems. In this session, two seasoned technology consultants will provide a practical, nuts-and-bolts-level presentation addressing E911 implementation challenges, based on a real-world comprehensive procedural (and physical) audit at a large higher education campus. The detailed discussion will include an overview of obstacles encountered while surveying the campus on foot to assess 911 dispatchable location compliance. The lessons learned will provide insight on how to solve problems such as shared switch locations, wireless access point location data, and business processes for keeping location data current. This session is a must for any organization contemplating 911 for multi-location and/or campus environments.
