Strategic Planning & Decision Support
Vault Recording: TBD
Internet of Things (IoT) technologies come in all shapes and sizes and provide enterprises with a range of enhanced capabilities and functions, including (but not limited to) integration with communications and collaboration systems. However, IoT comes with a potential cost – a burdened network. Not only does IoT increase network demand, but it can potentially bring with it a myriad of problems – security, connectivity, and other issues. In this panel session, we examine these issues, and ask whether your network is ready for IoT. We will discuss best practices in designing an IoT-ready network and issues related to standards, security, privacy, interoperability, and the ability to communicate with legacy systems.
*Understand what IoT standards should be followed and how they fit. *Learn ways to control interfering traffic (voice, video, and streaming), what traffic needs QoS, and how to deliver it. *Addressing interoperability issues between different devices. *How to deal with IoT devices, vendors, software applications, and multiple networks’ needs, and learn the difference between wired and wireless IoT device support.
