The past two years have exacerbated gender-driven inequalities in the workforce, and enterprise/IT communications is no exception. Women in IT have historically built their career while also negotiating obstacles deeply entrenched in the industry. Now, with the establishment of hybrid work, there are new challenges that could disproportionately affect women in IT, including uncertainty about how much “face time” with higher-ups will matter and how flexible employers are really willing to be in fostering work-life balance. In this session, a panel of women IT/communications professionals will discuss how they’ve built successful careers and gained advancement, and how they dealt with the challenges of the pandemic. They’ll share experiences and advice to help audience members chart their own course.
At the end of this session, we will recognize the winners of the 2022 Spotlight Awards, Enterprise Connect’s program to honor outstanding women working within enterprise IT/communications organizations. After this, Enterprise Connect will host a Women in Communications networking reception, which all are invited to attend.
