Tom Garvey, Director, Product Strategy, T-Mobile
Tom has extensive experience in the communications industry in a variety of roles and companies. He started his career in banking for technology companies before doing marketing with Siemens AG in Germany in the mobile communications equipment division. He then moved to AirTouch International (now Vodafone) and participated in start-ups of a number of greenfield mobile networks for subsidiaries worldwide, including in Spain, Poland, and Romania. He was part of a small operational team assisting joint-venture partners in obtaining licenses, building, and operating mobile systems. Since then, Tom worked at Cisco Systems rotating through positions in Corporate Development & Strategy, the Wireless Networking and Security Business Unit, and CSP Sales in Asia. At Cisco, he enjoyed focusing his efforts on projects related to mobility and new markets. He recently worked with small companies in the mobility domain before joining T-Mobile. Tom has a B.A. in Economics and French Literature from U.C. Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
