Jill Goebel, , IIDA, LEED AP ID+C, Principal | Design Director, Gensler
As a global design leader, Jill is driven to create compelling and transformative experiences through research, curiosity, and an engaging collaborative approach. Jill’s process is rooted in the belief that form follows purpose – that spaces not only tell a client’s story but catalyze their vision. With an award-winning body of work, Jill is recognized for her ability to distill complexity and unpredictable change into focus and clarity. She brings a strategic and intuitive mindset to every project, shaping spaces that express identity, engage emotion, fuel creativity, and elevate the everyday experience. With over 30 years of experience, Jill’s portfolio includes workplaces for some of the most in-demand employers in the world, developing beautiful, inventive, and effective solutions for a wide range of clients and scales. Her clients include Amazon, Nestlé, Under Armour, and Toyota, as well as universities like Duke and the University of Southern California.
Jill has served as a lecturer and program advisor at her alma mater Virginia Tech as well as a visiting critic at Marymount University and UDC. She regularly participates in speaking engagements with academic incubators and industry-leading organizations about facilitating creative connections in the workplace. Her work has received awards from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) among others. A Gensler Principal, Jill holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Virginia Tech.
